Speaking to Children.

Jan 1, 2010

Today I was asked to speak to a huge group of 5th graders about writing. Suppressing my innate resistance to children, I whipped together a little piece that left them inspired, awed, and grilling me about what I’d published. Highlights include kids volunteering their stories about setting gas cans on fire and evil cats, and a kid asking me to sign the book. Aw.
They got a copy of the Wordstock red book, including a ZeroZone comic featuring Reginald and Grok.

Weeks later I received a manila envelope filled with hand painted cards from the kids. Totally amazing. I decided to magically shrink their cards and pass them along to Reg & Grok. They loved them as well.
